- PUMApac-leader Darragh Murphy

AP – Springfield, IL – In a room atop the Illinois Schoolbook Depository, PUMApac and Just Say No Deal leaders stared out the window, looking down onto the first Obama-Biden rally and steeled themselves.
Earlier this morning, the two massive coalitions had a massive collective aneurysm when Senator Joe Biden was chosen over Hillary Clinton to be the vice-presidential candidate.
PUMA official Darragh Murphy said:
“The 58 of us have tried EVERYTHING to unify this party. We’ve politely asked the DNC to overthrow Obama and “install” Hillary when it was obvious to everyone that they fixed this election. And when that didn’t happen we said fine, now you at least have to make her vice-president. And now look what Howard Dean and Donna Brazile have done. They picked this old white man, who is obviously a racist – unlike Hillary and Bill – to be the VP when it should have gone to Hillary. I mean look at her, she doesn’t have a gray hair on her head. If Obama is really about change he should have selected a woman or a Republican or some choice that made sense. We can’t understand why people don’t listen to us when we’re the voice of reason.”

- Just Say No Deal’s top dog Will Bower

Will Bower of Just Say No Deal’s coalition of 17 strong-and-true Democrats had this to add:
“We plan to make our presence known in Denver. We’ll be there with bells on…

…along with the Pumette Liberation Army, to successfully overthrow this ticket. Watch out!”
When told that the Denver Police will be keeping strong security in and around the Pepsi Convention Center, Bower responded:
“Okay, well, we’re still working out the details but our whole point is to challenge the democratic process and anything legal.”
And with that, he popped a can of Coke and threw it out the window, hoping to hit something.

Bruce – I’m STILL waiting for your sitcom.
As usual this is brilliant, infirmative and funny at the same time!
So the PUMAs are UP to 58 members? Look out America!
August 23, 2008 at 1:13 pm
Paulette, I like your Freudian slip “infirmative”. They should be infirmed!
August 23, 2008 at 1:41 pm
LMAO! Bruce this was purely Freudian.
Infirmative does make sense though – These PUMA nincompoops are sick!!!
LOLL!
August 23, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Well I have to hop on “The Google” image search then.
August 23, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Actually, The PUMA toads are psychos who need to visit their therapist…quick
August 23, 2008 at 1:52 pm
you guys are so going down the question is…will it be in Denver or November?
I was crushed almost by 36 million feet heading through the Puma enterance to the democratic party…but you wont believe us until November 08.
Sorry but no Cookie for Obama on November 4th!
Probama Zogby poll:

Hillary Forever-Nobama never

August 23, 2008 at 1:54 pm
oooh, you scare me.
btw: you call yourself a Hillary loyalist, yet she has asked you to stop and get on board with Obama and the Democratic party. So who is your loyalty to – your ego?
You’re not fooling any of us. If you cared about the Democratic party and their ideals and trying to restore the damage that Bush has inflicted, then you’d be on board.
And if you want the Republicans to win, then just declare yourself a Republican and be done with it.
August 23, 2008 at 2:32 pm
This is nuts! Obama/Biden is a good thing. IMHO you people scare me. I don’t want 8 more years of Rethuglican BS but you all seem so intent upon it. Frightening. Get on board and unite the the Democratic party, or your butts will be stuck in the horrible aftermath of the second depression in the USA, brought to you by more of the same.
You like the corporate fascism? Re-read Orwell’s 1984, and think again. You are crazy!
August 23, 2008 at 2:36 pm
Thank you Sally.
This PUMA thing is the most insane thing I’ve ever seen in politics. And it’s being fed by the Republican machine who are eating it up.
August 23, 2008 at 2:42 pm
is that Micheal douche serious? And why is everything that didn’t favor Hillary at one point called “Probama”. That is why I call them psycho, Micheal is just example number 58.
August 23, 2008 at 2:43 pm
In spite of PUMA, I was actually thinking Hillary would have been a better choice. Oh well.
I think your first image of PUMA speaks beautifully towards their character
August 23, 2008 at 3:00 pm
I think the team of Hillary and Bill would have been too much.
And Sensico, if Michael thinks he’s got 18 million people behind the PUMA thing, then he is really is psycho.
One more point: any Democrat woman wanting to overthrow Obama or vote McCain is crazy. McCain is promising to make the Supreme Court more conservative. And if anyone thinks that Roe v. Wade cannot be overthrown, then just look at how the Supreme Court handed Bush the presidency in 2000.
August 23, 2008 at 3:16 pm
For what it is worth 2 cents:
PUMA appears to be a White House backed bunch of hired dirty tricks.
Hillary Clinton appears to be the worst sore loser, and a real “Knee Capper” a la Olympic Figure Skating of old.
If the Democrats want to know why there are so many Independents today-
take a look at your platform and take a look at Hillary Clinton.
August 23, 2008 at 3:29 pm
Well, “our platform” will win this time over the failed policies of the Republicans who have driven this country into the ground.
August 23, 2008 at 3:43 pm
They think they are gonna ignore us and we will go away.
headline: Hillary wins roll call vote!
jeesh … like a fake ceremonial vote is gonna pacify us?!?! Unite the party around Hillary Clinton!
August 23, 2008 at 3:43 pm
Bruce- people are certainly sick of the attacks on the Constitution, civil liberties and corruption bordering on fascism under this administration.
Revulsion at the past 8 years is not necessarily embracing some of the Democratic Platform.
Bruce in days of old, Democrats were church going, gun owning, anti-abortion, LABOR who voted together for representation.
No offense fella, the Democratic platform today does not represent the values of many former Democrats, just as the extremist activities of the Republicans do not represent Independents.
Two polarized parties, who both represent a slice of American views and values, leaves a hunk of people in the middle with zero representation.
Do not attribute a victory as an endorsement of the Democratic Platform today.
Also please note the Democrats in Congress went along with gutting the 4th Amendment- representing no one but the folk who have given us the last 8 years.
August 23, 2008 at 4:56 pm
As someone who actually watch the democrats on c-span during the development of the democratic platform (im a policy nerd), I can say that the platform is rather different.
Issues, particularly of abortion, immigration, workers right, crime, rural and education, were not typical. Its obvious that Obama had much to do with this platform or the democratic platform would have been exactly the same as before.
I for one as an independent am very happy with the platform. I tend to have rather conservative views on some issues so Im happy that they have a tougher platform on crime and immigration. And as someone who would never work on a farm unless theres a lot of animals, I am very surprised and happy that the democrats are taking rural issues more seriously.
Also I want to add that they let evangelicals, have a seat at the table even though the democrats don’t agree, they have somewhat lightened up on abortion. This issue is where I think Obama had more influence during the democrats meeting. Its to prevent unplanned pregnancies, let women choose, but reduce the number of abortions through programs. Whether your pro choice or life, you have to admit that the Bush administration hasn’t really attempted to reduce the number of abortions.
Anyways sorry for completely not staying on topic with this post

batguano,
I’ll agree there is a lot about the Dems in congress I have not been happy with. It’s time they stood up for their beliefs. They gave into the Bush fear, the patriot act and all the rest.
I understand where you’re coming from as an Independent and about the Dems of old.
But the Dems did have to evolve to embrace civil rights, including a woman’s right to choose because otherwise we are living in a fascist regime where the government is trying to control every aspect of our lives. (And frankly, religion should be left out of the equation. We’re supposed to have separation of church and state).
I trust the Dems now to try to bring us more moderate approach than the Republicans, who for me have been much more fanatical zealots in every way.
August 23, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Robert,
perhaps you actually need to listen to Hillary instead of acting on behalf of someone who is telling you to get over it.
August 24, 2008 at 8:06 am
The PUMAs and the Just Say No Deal supporters will never get on board because they are really Republicans accepting money from the McCain campaign. I’ve seen this happen before. It’s “laundered” money so to speak so that it doesn’t show up as “campaign spending”. Happened in my own back yard… it’s labeled as “consultant fees” and comes from State and local budgets.
The PUMAs are a Republican group designed to disrupt the Democratic Party. Just challenge them on their website and watch your challenging comment disappear. It’s the “new” swiftboating. It’s time to create a phony Republican group. We can chat off line if you want.

Bruce in days of old, Democrats were church going, gun owning, anti-abortion, LABOR who voted together for representation.
You just exposed your true identity. The Democrats that you describe became Republicans during the Reagan years and have remained Republicans. It is so obvious that you are a blogger that is paid by the McCain campaign. We tire of you’re kind easily.
August 24, 2008 at 8:17 am
Its to prevent unplanned pregnancies, let women choose, but reduce the number of abortions through programs.
Sensico – I am proud to say that this is based on a policy that was introduced into the Senate by a Senator from Pennsylvania… Senator Bob Casey Jr. who is “pro-life” and believes that no one is “pro abortion” and that we should eliminate the need for abortions. Obama must have had this conversation with Senator Casey as they toured Pennsylvania during the primary.
August 24, 2008 at 9:04 am
Cats, thanks for all the comments.
Don’t get me started on the abortion thing. There’s so much to it. I think Dems agree we don’t like to see a lot of abortions (yet still want women to have the right to choose). So many teen and unwanted pregnancies could be avoided by use of education, programs, and other means. I’ve heard so many rightwingers espouse not having sex ed in the schools. That makes no sense to me. As if not talking about it will somehow stop teens from acting on their raging hormones. It’s the ostrich with the head in the sand approach.
