Sarah Palin, the former “Miss Moose”, has experience up the Wasilla

znllkldhhNNNNNleyy]&&&&3pi4o3h&

The former “Miss Moose”

Sarah Palin was once “Miss Moose”, or was it “Miss Wasilla”… well, one of the two. Anyway, she then became mayor of this sprawling metropolis of Wasilla, population 5500 (at the time)… people, not Moose. Although there’s a bunch of them, too.

But before she was mayor, Miss Moose got elected to the elite City Council as a supporter of the controversial new Sales Tax! This was still back in the olden days of 1992 when people were used to bartering with furs and beads and things.

Sidenote: I’m not sure I like a Republican who supports new radical progressive taxes.

In fact Miss Moose won on advocating a “safer, more progressive Wasilla”. I think safer because they put up some Moose crossing signs and you actually did have to show your mug shot when you came to drink at the Mug-Shot Saloon.

But Ms. Moose served two very successful terms on the Wasilla City Council before being elected Mayor. She won by criticizing the incumbent mayor for his high taxes. (Sales tax?)

Once in power, Mayor Moose immediately took control and fired the police chief and library director. I think those were two different people.

But some Wasillians got their dander up. In fact a huge contingent of 60 people (and 3 moose) called the “Concerned Citizens for Wasilla” discussed holding a recall campaign to oust Mayor Moose, but then decided to go to the Mug-Shot Saloon and have a beer instead. Thus her political career was saved.

Although the police chief/possible librarian did sue her… on the grounds that he was fired because he supported the campaign of Mayor Moose’s opponent. His suit was eventually dismissed when the judge ruled that Palin had the right under state law to fire city employees, even for political reasons. (She could get a job in the Justice Department!)

From there, Mayor Moose ran for Lieutenant Governor and lost.

And from there became Governor (18 months ago), where she is still waiting for the jury to tell her global warming is real. She doesn’t trust all the snow melting because it does that sometimes.

Governor Moose is now under investigation by state officials for abuse of power. (She really COULD have a career in the Justice Department!). John McCain picked her to be his VP based on her experience. And the fact she looks really hot holding a big moose gun.

Uh-oh

  • I don’t know about you Bruce, but I think McCain made a big mistake.

The more that comes out about Palin the worse it gets. I watched a Fox News story where she was interviewed by Glenn Beck. (I washed with anti-bacterial soap after watching him.) The lovefest was nauseating, because they both are into drilling. Besides the North Slope, Palin has another spot she thinks should be drilled also.

But hey I’m glad he picked her, it just helps Obama’s ticket to look even better. Biden is very strong on foreign policy, which is a big plus. Thanks for the link.

Have a good day Bruce :)

  • This is a ridiculous post.

  • In honor of a ridiculous choice.

Or do you think choosing a VP under official state investigation is smart?
… not to mention her vast array of experience.

  • Apparently the Republicans feel that all these details make her eminently qualified to be a heartbeat from the presidency.

Progressives need to learn from the Rethugs and stop being negative about Obama/Biden because we are this close to this woman ending up President.

  • What should their ticket be?:

McCain-Palin: The wrong experience and no real experience.

    Or:

    McCain-Palin: Experienced in bad judgment.

  • How about:
    McCain-Palin: Lacking judgment & experience.

  • Quayle with ovaries.

    The troglodyte and the neophyte.

Tina Fey just cleared her calendar.

  • The Biden camp is already calling her “Swiffer” because he will wipe the floor with her.

  • Funny!!!

Is she Tina Fey or Karen Walker with glasses?

  • Can’t be Karen without a great rack and a Martini, poodles.

  • You are f-ing killing me, I have never been so grateful for Republican stupidity in my 47 yrs. on this mortal coil. She’s anti-gay, creationist, big oil, gun loving, vindictive and a MILF ! I’m going to go back to church on Sundays cause this is a gift from above. Keep up the hilarious work.

  • A list of people who would make a better VP that Sarah Palin:

Sister Geraldine (the 6′3″ principal of my high school that ran down a mugger in the parking lot of Kroger)

    Miss Teen South Carolina
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WALIARHHLII
(at least everyone would have maps)

    Ross the Intern

    Either one of my parents

    Zahara Jolie-Pitt

    Panna Hamilton

  • As McCain tries to revive the Cold War, America DESPERATELY needs a candidate who stood up to the Red Menace at the Bering Straights.

Them moose and polar bears she was shooting at were COMMIE SPIES!

  • Thanks for the laugh Bruce! :)

I lived in Anchorage Alaska for 8 years and it is a beautiful state.

  • I know Alaska’s beautiful. Just giving it to the ‘highly experienced’ Gov.

  • Great job with the posts on Palin.

McCain’s judgment should be targeted by the Dems. I am now looking forward to the GOP Convention this week. It should be hysterical as all the speakers try to explain why she was a great pick when they know it totally sucked.
McCain actually outdid Bush. Cheney looked like a better pick in 2000.

  • That is hilarious . I’ll be forwarding it to all my friends.

  • [...] Who the heck is Bruce? Sarah Palin, the former “Miss Moose”, has experience up the Wasilla [...]

  • I love you Bruce. The “Trixie” Palin photo in the black leather mini made my week. Yeehaw. (Now we know how she made it to the top!)

  • This is priceless. I am putting you in my blogroll! It’s just so obvious that McCain is trying to put the fun back into fundamentalist.

  • Have you heard she might also be a grandmother? There’s a rumor floating about that Trig is actually Bristol’s daughter, and not Sarah’s.

I’m not saying I believe it, but there’s some compelling evidence to the case.

  • Yes, I heard that. I doubt if it’s true, but she needs to be investigated. She was never even fully vetted.

And her hands are not clean in “troopergate”. It’s good state officials are investigating her on that account. There is absolutely some abuse of power there.

As I’ve been examining and researching her, this woman is an ambitious opportunist.

Obviously she’s not experienced enough. But that’s not why McCain chose her.

As everyone is rightfully saying: this is his choice for being one heartbeat away from the presidency?

When Obama picked Biden he said the number one qualification is choosing someone who could step in and be President. Common sense.

  • This IS ridiculous. Good job; you have me grinning from ear-to-ear. I am wondering if this VP selection will convince Maine mooses (meese?) into voting Republican (this would be significant; we ‘ve become a blue state). Did you steal the mug-shot saloon/Wasilla downtown image from another blogger? -mainiac

  • Sarah Palin is a working mother and I applaud her for that. Raising five kids and being governor of a small state that you grew up in is a lovely balanced career. But as a new nursing mother, for her to take on running for vice president is an abuse not only to her rights as a mother but to the child’s rights to have a good start in life. The fact that her four-month-old still nursing child is a special needs child with down syndrome makes her decision even more unconscionable. I cannot believe that any nursing mother would desire to go on the road and deal with the sleeplessness and the stress of a campaign for presidency of the United States while she’s also worrying about waking up at night with her child nursing her child eating enough food to make sure that she’s creating breast milk to feed her child. Now granted I’m sure that McCain has enough money to purchase for her wrecked nannies around the clock. And maybe now she’s made the decision not to meanness to wean his child and not to nurse after all. And maybe because it’s a down syndrome’s child they figured a kind of a life isn’t going to happen anyway. All of this is unconscionable. What does this say about America’s ability to grow its families. What does this say about America’s family values. We ask a four month old newborn to sacrifice his mother is time quiet time nurturing life that he needs to grow and be sustained in a mother’s time with a newborn child that she could be quietly nurturing him and instead we replace this with the governors need to pursue her career and rape the Alaska wilderness for oil is. This is a woman who refuses to put polar bears on the endangered species list and does not even believe that there is global warming in light of scientific factual evidence.

  • Great post. :) Yeah seriously what was John McCain thinking? Seems too desperate. Really making you question his judgment.

  • Melanie, thanks for that great comment. I suppose God bless her if she can do it all, but I had a conversation with a friend over the examine thing you bring up. It troubles me that the baby is not going to get the time he needs from his mother. And he has down’s syndrome. I’m sure as Governor of Alaska she can have a very manageable schedule. It’s not like being the Gov of CA or NY. But to be VP? And to now be full-time campaigning, plus still being Gov, plus a mother of a newborn? Her personal and political choices are hers. But I don’t respect her.

  • to blogdog: as I was researching Palin I saw that pic on several sites. Ended up taking it from Mudflats.wordpress.com who has excellent posts on Palin. I linked to one of them on my Palin investigation post. Mudflats is an Alaskan, check out the site.

  • Very funny Bruce!

On a serious note, the VP pick was the first executive decision McCain and Obama made.

To keep it short, this was a nutty choice of someone who put his re-election above the best interests of the country.

He’s 72 and claims were are facing extraordinary threats from Islamic radicals and Russia, so the most qualified person is Palin?

Pls 527’s!!! Its Putin vs Palin if an erratic out of touch 72 old checks out. The clips are there of her saying she doesn’t know what a VP does, or admitting she couldn’t possibly be considered with her experience. Think like Rove.

PS She looks like a Playboy bunny, but breeds like an Energizer Bunny!

  • And is a dumb bunny.

Cody, I think we all just need to keep hitting that drumbeat. She has NO experience.

Even polar bears will vote against her.

Or should I say “especially” polar bears, since her type of thinking will make them extinct.

  • The Palin Pick proves the old fart lacks good judgment.

McCain-Palin: wrong experience and no experience
A heartbeat (or senile lapse) away from…..

President Palin. You thought the cowboy fratboy was bad; try a beautyqueen hockeymom.

  • Can'tBelieveYou

I can NOT believe you people! Must be nice to just sit around and reinforce each others thoughts. To criticize a woman for pursuing her career while nursing is outlandish. No one would have criticized a father with a 4 month old for accepting the VP spot. Or do you believe that a father just doesn’t need to be present to bond with their child? Her choice to nurse or not is completely up to her and absolutely none of your business. Stick to the issues and facts that impact the November decision and your arguments would have a lot more weight.

  • Maybe Palin is just a long lost illegitimate daughter from a hunting trip in Alaska many years ago. “Dad, since you ignored me for so long, can I be your VP?” And then, of course, when they’re casting the eventual movie….Don Rickles (if he’s still alive) for McCain and Tina Fey for Palin.

  • Well, well, well, maybe Mr. McCain will start a blog called ‘who the heck is john mccain? WHAT WAS HE THINKING?? Who knew this little gift could arrive. I found myself delightfully relieved because even my republican step father said – ‘NO Way! I’m voting for Obama.”
    :-)

  • What a stupid site!

  • Palin was a horrible choice. According to CNN, she has zeroed out Obama’s convention bounce after only two days on the job. We must run and heap more abuse on her quickly.

  • Dear Can’t believe you,

When you can justify your president Bush for killing thousands of innocent people, you have a right to speak. Until then, you’re a fascist lover and nothing you say is relevant.

  • Dear “Anonymous”:

A stupid site dedicated to a stupid choice by your stupid candidate.

  • Bruce.. keep me laughing.. #1 if this “lady” were such a big rifleperson her right elbow would be high and her left elbow would be UNDER the rifle.. but that’s neither here nor there.. Dick Cheney is a big “hunter” too.. DUCK, he’s got a gun ! The flag bikini photo is cute, good that she blocks the dude behind her as his drawers look to be a bit low..
We laugh so we dont cry… Republican Party is throwing this election because they know the train wreck that is coming and do not want to be in the locomotive when it happens and get blamed for it.

  • Oh, yeah.. forgot to admonish you, Bruce.. don’t dis my Lady, Tina Fey… I LOVE that woman.. and she would be a much better candidate than Sarah P… if only I had TV hooked up.. can’t wait to see Miss Tina do the Sarah P bits

  • Tina Fey is the best. Unfortunately there is the physical resemblance that many are playing off of.

Tina is miles above this ridiculous Palin. Tina Fey is intelligent. I hope she comes on SNL and does Palin. All she’ll have to do is get a beehive wig and then whine.

  • Bambi (bimbo) with a gun.

  • Great post, Bruce. As a playwright, I appreciate the subtle and not-so-subtle humor. I’m putting you on my favorites list.

  • This just in….

In todays head-to-head debate about the damage to the habitats of polar bears, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was immediately attacked and devoured by her opponent, a polar bear.

While internet bloggers generally agreed that Ms. Palin was “eaten alive” at the venue, FOX News reported that the (now former) governor’s performance was “satisfying” and “tasty”. Speaking later through an interpreter and steel bars, the bear acknowledged that Ms. Palin was, indeed, tough and gritty, but said that he was looking forward to more debates with Ms. Palin’s backers at Big Oil.

  • [...] Sarah Palin, the former “Miss Moose”, has experience up the Wasilla [...]

  • Your site is providing multiple valuable public services. Both hysterical and thoughtful. I only hope that Americans who only know Alaska through Sarah Palin realize that she does not represent the fine people of that fine state.

  • She’s a disgrace to Alaska.

She’s a disgrace to anyone who dropped out after kindergarten.

  • P.S. McCain’s experience? It’s the “wrong” experience. Worthless. 26 years in Congress and he knows nothing about the economy? That engenders trust.

  • My theory about John McCain is that he has adapted his picturesque outrageous “war hero”schtick to allow him fit into the most exclusive club in the world.

He has some social skills, discusses politics ,hangs out and votes. He has been no more conciencious in doing his homework as a Senator than he was as a midshipman, finishing 5th from the bottom of his class.

  • I came by way of Blogcatalog, during the hubub of Palin debates. GREAT site, this post has me laughing while still making some solid points. The more I learn about her, the more I am wondering what suicide pill McCain’s campaign manager took when he made that decision (because McCain sure didn’t, he didn’t want her, he wanted Lieberman).

Oi, I’ve just been shaking my head wondering, what the hell?

Great site, I am likely to come back to check out more of what you have to say.

  • Rastamick61, your comments were right on! God is, and he has an incredible sense of humor.

  • gasdocpol, you’re right on about McCain. He was a poor student and you certainly wonder about him as a Senator. 26 years in Congress and he doesn’t know much about the economy? Isn’t that his job? To understand the issues we face as Americans? Isn’t the economy something a senior Senator should be versed in and knowledgeable about? Astounding. And his reactionary foreign policy views. Scary.

  • Such a shame to realize there are so many idiots out there in this world. Your all completely blind folded. So sorry for you. Get your facts right next time.

  • Cynthia, your grammar needs correcting. It’s “You’re all”. And “blind folded” needs a hyphen.

    And the facts are correct.

Oh sorry, maybe I should have written it into an “attack ad” for you as a Republican to understand it.

  • Come on Republicans…even you have to admit this woman is a scary choice! She says John McCain is the same man wherever he goes. Can she say the same for herself? I don’t know about all of you but I’m not too keen on a gun totin, bikini clad bar maid for VP. On a serious note, I think it just shows that John McCain doesn’t think for himself. How sad and pathetic.

  • I have a few questions for Sarah.

If your daughter decided she wanted an abortion, would you respect her choice or would you force her against her will to carry the baby to term like you want to impose on the rest of us? Do you respect her Country Given Right to decide for herself? Or, do you still demand to be the person to decide for all of us?

It is easy to support her decision to keep the baby because she made the decision you wanted and you like her partner. But, what if she was raped or what if it was her father’s or uncle’s child? You still wouldn’t let her decide for herself because you are pro-life; you think you have the right to boss everyone around.

When will you be pressing charges against the man who raped your daughter? If you don’t take even that basic step to curb teenage pregnancy you are a hypocrite of the nth-degree.

Why do you say you are working and raising your kids? There is not time enough in the day to feed, clean, drive, read to, do homework with, 5 kids and work a full time job. Who is doing your chores? Do you have a nanny or is one of your older kids taking care of your younger kids? If so, then you are a working mom who has someone else taking care of your kids. That is perfectly fine. Dads do it all the time. Just don’t try to tell us you are doing it all if you are not.

As governor you wear many hats. If you do that job for 21 months you can’t multiply that experience by all the hats. Of your 21 months in office how many minutes did you spend on “Commander in chief of the National Guard?” How many days were on budget wrangling? How many days were on… Do you really only have a few weeks experience in each category?

Who changed your mind that the Bridge to Somewhere was really a Bridge to Nowhere?

Who changed your mind from thinking you weren’t qualified to be VP to thinking your are qualified?

I guess that is an easy switch. You just need to compare yourself to the C- student we have in office whose only business experience is running 3 of daddy’s gift oil businesses into the ground. I guess you couldn’t be worse. I guess that makes you the best choice.

  • As much as I don’t like the man – McCain has the right partner. I don’t believe he chose her, I think Rove did…but that’s not the point. The point is, she’s the VP pick – and she’s done more damage to the Obama/Biden ticket in one week than most thought she could do in 6 weeks!

Do NOT underestimate her!! She isn’t above using whatever tactics are needed to get her way – there are a lot of fired, and scared folks in Alaska who made that mistake. Simply…John is a mere stepping stone to where she intends to go – and he did it to himself. Like most men who’ve come up against her and lost – they are first overtly attracted to her sexuality..and yes, it is displayed when needed. John was no exception…go find the video.

If you think the investigation into her misuses, abuses, and ugly nature will find anything – give your head a shake. She’s coming out as clean as a white-washed picket fence. The delusion has taken effect. This is your new Vice President/President in waiting. Let’s hope she at least has a long wait.

  • It is sad ; this presidential race is more looking like a popularity contest.
