Never choose the straight party vote option because it alerts the computer to your party preference and allows software code to trigger whatever function the programmer has designed.
Do it the old fashioned way. Punch in presidential choice first, then proceed down the list manually.

The following is especially true of you voting in New Mexico, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. But anywhere with any kind of electronic voting machines, beware!
Electronic voting is filled with problems. I’m sure you’ve heard of other such fraud happening. Please pass this on. It may make a difference!!!
If you live in an area with such machines, call your election board to see if it’s being addressed. If the machines do not get fixed, alert others. Alert your local media.
A firm called Automated Election Services was found to have miscoded the system in heavily Democratic Santa Fe County, NM, so that straight party voters would not have their presidential votes counted. If your state allows one pull for straight party voting, as Pennsylvania does, you may lose your presidential vote. In 2004 Alabama straight party votes were caught going Republican. In Wisconsin, straight party votes disappeared altogether. Both DRE and optical scan machines are vulnerable.

WINFIELD, W.Va. — Three Putnam County voters say electronic voting machines changed their votes from Democrats to Republicans when they cast early ballots last week.
This is the second West Virginia county where voters have reported this problem. Last week, three voters in Jackson County told The Charleston Gazette their electronic vote for “Barack Obama” kept flipping to “John McCain”.
In both counties, Republicans are responsible for overseeing elections

Shelba Ketchum, a 69-year-old nurse retired from Thomas Memorial Hospital, described what happened Friday at the Putnam County Courthouse in Winfield.
“I pushed buttons and they all came up Republican,” she said. “I hit Obama and it switched to McCain. I am really concerned about that. If McCain wins, there was something wrong with the machines.
“I asked them for a printout of my votes,” Ketchum said. “But they said it was in the machine and I could not get it. I did not feel right when I left the courthouse. My son felt the same way.
Are the Republicans running the elections concerned about this? Oh gosh no. It’s obviously the fault of the VOTERS:

Bruce I’ve been telling people about not voting ‘straight party’ but I’ll post something as well.
That’s why EVERY SINGLE VOTE COUNTS – even the votes in ‘blue’ states. We can’t take any vote for granted. That way even if the republican thieves steal votes we will STILL win.

My theory is that I believe that the machines are rigged. If the Republicans can pay 150k for clothes for an “airhead” to pounce around in, they can pay off the designers of the machines. Once again by my previous blogs online, whose checking the checkers?????

I apologize for not letting you know this sooner…but I read this awhile back. I then wrote a ‘letter to the editor’ outlining this issue. However, they would not print it.
Yet, hubby and I are both working at the Obama headquarters in our local area…so the “word” on this is now out there in the public.
Last week, we both had our vehicles “keyed” (we’re supposing it’s due to our Obama/Biden bumper sticker)…on my vehicle were keyed the word “socialist pig” and a nazi swastika. On my hubby’s vehicle…it was the same, but it was also done with spray paint.
It’s as if people are total whack jobs. Yet, as a former RNC supporter for 30 years…I shouldn’t be surprised as the one thing I learned is they DO NOT listen (which is why I left).
