Truck driver goes off on Glenn Beck in Wendy’s: “You racist bigot!”

Gosh, Glenn, I can’t imagine why anyone would call you or Limbaugh or O’Reilly or Ingraham or Coulter bigoted. Wherever could someone come up with something so outlandish? But just to give you a heads up: when you pal around with terrorists, sometimes these things come back on you. And Glenn, moving from CNN to Fox News is not going to exactly help matters.

From the Huffington Post:

Conservative personality Glenn Beck was accosted at his local Wendy’s Saturday night, hesaid Monday on his radio show. In his attempt to procure a Frosty — “Everybody wants a Frosty,” he said — he was stopped by a truck driver with food in his hair and called a “racist bigot.”

“I wanted to say, I think you have me mistaken for someone else, but I knew he knew who I was and he just hated me for who I was,” Beck said.

Beck’s full Wendy’s rant below:

It happened to me at Wendy’s Saturday night. We are on the bus and we stop to get fuel and I said, I’m going to go in, I’m treating. Everybody wants a Frosty. I’m going to go get Frosties. And one of the security guys, said, No, you’re not. I said, Yeah, I am. I mean, it’s a truck stop. How much trouble am I going to get in in a truck stop? Everybody here you can trust. You’re not going in. I went in, but I had to bring the swat team with me and so I’m just, I just want to Frosty, please, the guy standing next to me, who, by the way, I may point out. Had food in his hair, is a truck driver and he turned around. He looked at me and the recognition was immediate and he said, You racist bigot! And I just said — I wanted to say, I think you have me mistaken for someone else, but I knew he knew who I was and he just hated me for who I was. You conservatives that have destroyed this country! And the hatred was so deep, it was breath taking. Luckily the swat team was there and I just separated myself from him and he just shouted through other people and there were children in the restaurant and he blamed me for everything, I believe including the Holocaust, and the hatred was palpable. The guy screamed at the restaurant, you better not let me see you in the parking lot because I’ve got a truck and I’ll run your ass over! Wow. Is this who we’ve become? Is this who we’ve become?

The TV and radio personality recently signed a deal to jump to Fox News, where he will host the 5PM hour starting in spring 2009.

  • Bless that truck driver. :)

  • I’m glad. He wasn’t worthy of CNN anyway (not that CNN is so great…but compared to Fox, what isn’t?). It’s amazing how Beck manages to turn the hatred around on the trucker–like the trucker hated him for the sole reason of hating someone; for joy.

  • Good riddance. Now I don’t have to worry about running into him on respectable television.
AND ANOTHER THING……He is the exact type of talking head I am sick of. They have all the criticism in the world yet where are your brilliant solutions. If him and his ilk are sooo patriotic and enlightened, tell us what are the answers? If you and Limburger, Coulter, Hannity and even Lou Dobbs are so smart why not toss your hat in the political ring and run for office and fix it. You won’t because you KNOW that you can’t. Government is broken. There only so much humans can do. It’s called politics. Do the best you can. Hopefully, honestly.
So until they offer a solution that works, they are just blowing hot air, stirring up hate and wasting the time of people in the trenches doing actual work.

  • When you whip up divisiveness and are a prejudiced bigot, what do you expect? Everyone should just love you and be “understanding?”

It’s certainly not journalism what Beck and his type offer.

I agree, instead of sowing hatred, maybe people like Beck could contribute some to solutions for this country instead of seeking to tear it apart.

  • poor Glenn
